LAHORE, July 6 A total of 1,061 files of plots in phase I and II of Johar Town were found missing from Lahore Development Authority's record on Monday.

Findings of a special committee constituted by the LDA to scrutinise record of Johar Town necessitated a ban on all transactions of plots bearing such file numbers with immediate effect, said a spokesman.

The committee reported that the credentials of these files could not be verified because of non-availability of the same. In the light of the committee findings, the LDA decided to ban sale and purchase of plots carrying these files numbers, stopped all types of actions including exemption, allocation, possession, issuance of NoC, transfer of plot, approval of building plan and other matters relating to such files.

OPEN COURT Director-general Omer Rasul held a day-long open court on Monday at the Johar Town office of LDA.

He gave a patient hearing to hundreds of applicants who came there from 8am to 4pm and ensured immediate action by the officials concerned for redressing genuine grievances of the public.
