LARKANA, June 30: Four persons, including two brothers, were killed and three others injured when armed men opened indiscriminate fire at a tailor’s shop on Airport Road, in the jurisdiction of Darri police station on Saturday.

The attack apparently coincided with a dispute between rival groups of transporters which often quarrel over arrival and departure timings of their buses. In similar attacks over the last five years, a number of people have been killed and injured.

Narrating the Saturday event, witnesses revealed that three motorcyclistes two of them armed with Kalashinkovs, struck at the shop and challenged their rivals sitting there. The armed men opened a volley of shots, killing four of them instantly.

The victims were identified as Haji Ali Nawaz and Asghar, sons of Gul Mohammed Jatoi; Abdullah, son of Khabar Jatoi and Irshad Ali, son of Lal Khan Chandio (a guest of the Jatois).

Two of the injured were Asad Shaikh and Haji Khan Malgani, customers of a nearby ice shop while the third one, Mukhtiar Jatoi, was sitting along with the deceased when attacked.

Mukhtiar lodged an FIR with Darri police accusing eight persons, Allah Bakhsh alias Daddo Unnar, Muhub Unnar, Faizal Unnar, Shaman Unnar, Madad Ali alias Madu Unnar, Mustafa alias Commando Jatoi, Abbas Jatoi and Jabbar Jatoi, of involvement in the attack.

All the bodies and the injured were rushed to the Chandka Medical College Teaching Hospital. Later, the bodies were handed over to their relatives.
