KHAIRPUR, June 24: Electricity consumers continued their protest for the third consecutive day here on Monday against detection bills and the installation of crystal meters.

They took out a procession and observed a token hunger strike at the Panj Gulla Chowk.

FIR: Following a clash between Hyderabad Electrion Supply Company (Hesco) officials and electricity consumers on Sunday evening near Therhi, the assistant lineman, Khalid Hussain Abro, lodged an FIR with the B-Section police station on Monday against Thaar Phulpoto and four others.

The complainant has alleged that when the Hesco officials were disconnecting illegal direct connections in the village, the accused attacked the Hesco officials and injured the complainant.

GROWERS: Hundreds of growers of Weehon, Ali Nawaz, Faiz Ganj and Pandrhon wahs staged a demonstration at Pakka Chang, Faiz Ganj taluka, against the artificial shortage of water.

The protestors told newsmen that irrigation officials were creating artificial shortage of water while there was enough water in the canal.

They said some influential landlords of the area were stealing water but the irrigation officials did not take any notice of the water theft.
