MANDI BAHAUDDIN, April 26: Police and the district administration on Tuesday impounded dozens of public vehicles ahead of Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s one-day visit to Mauza Johalian on Wednesday as a result commuters had to face a great deal of inconvenience.
Reports said bus and wagons stands were wearing a deserted look as some transporters had stopped plying their vehicles owing to the action by the administration.
Meanwhile, District Nazim Nazar Muhammad Gondal in a press statement condemned the impounding of public transport.
He said despite high claims of public welfare, the Punjab government was adopting ‘anti-public steps’ and all government employees, including lady teachers and students, were being forced to attend the CM’s public meeting.
ACQUITTED: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ittefaq Abbasi has acquitted all four murder accused — Perveen Bibi, Muhammad Farooq, Irfan Ali and Farooq Hussain by giving them the benefit of the doubt.
