HARIPUR: 103 shopkeepers booked

HARIPUR, Feb 9: At least 103 shopkeepers were booked by food authorities for over charging and a case was registered against the management of an oil factory for marketing poor quality products, officials said here on Wednesday.

Sources at the office of District Food Controller, Haripur, said that during a surprise checking of shops Last month, the food inspectors filed challans of 88 shopkeepers who were caught selling sweet, confectionary and grocery items at higher rates than fixed by the authority.

While 15 butchers were booked for overcharging and a case was registered against Hussain Daud oil & ghee mills, Hattar under pure food act when, according to Hattar police its sample of ghee was declared unfit by the food laboratory, Peshawar.
