MULTAN, Jan 1: As many as 57 candidates filed their nomination papers on Saturday with the three-member election board for different seats of the Multan District Bar Association. The annual election is scheduled to be held on Jan 8.

According to the breakdown, seven candidates have filed papers for the post of DBA president, four each for senior vice-president and junior vice-president, five each for secretary-general and joint secretary, two for finance secretary, three each for library secretary and auditor, and 24 aspirants have tried their luck for the seven seats of the bar's executive body.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out on Jan 3 and appeals against acceptance/rejection of papers heard till 10am the next day. The candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations the same day.

The final list of candidates will be published on Jan 5.-APP
