SANGHAR, Nov 2: A man and a woman were killed by the brother of the woman on the pretext of Karo-kari in Chak-14 in the jurisdiction of Mangli police station on Tuesday.

The killer, Akbar Jat, surrendered to police along with the hatchet used in the crime.

Akbar told police that he had seen his sister, Rukkia Bibi, 25, mother of four children, and Arbab Shar, 22, of the nearby village in an objectionable position in a sugarcane field and killed them.

A brother of Arbab Shar, Samo Khan Shar, said that four persons, Akbar, Munawar, Sarwar, the husband of the woman, and an unidentified person, had killed his brother while he was working in the field.

The bodies of both the deceased were shifted to the Civil Hospital, Sanghar, for post-mortem.

The Mangli police are investigating the case.
