SIALKOT, Aug 21: Police killed an alleged robber in an encounter and arrested another in Sorrangiyaan village near M. R. Link canal bridge in Pasrur on Saturday.

According to police, two gunmen drove away with motorcycles of Sabir and Aslam near Rachhara-Motra village and escaped towards Pasrur.

A police party led by the Daska ASP followed the fleeing robbers and encountered them in Sorrangiyaan village.

Police claimed that the robbers opened fire on them and they had to return the compliment as a result of which one of them was killed. The other robber, identified as Babar Nawaz, was arrested.

The dead robber was identified as Adeel Masih of Dhillam village.

Police recovered two illicit mausers and one carbine from their custody.

They claimed that both the robbers were involved in more than a dozen crimes.

TORTURE: The Sialkot additional district and sessions judge ordered a special medical board to examine a teenager who was tortured by Motra police station SHO in his residence and present its report on September 2.

Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza, 16, a resident of Kot Bhukaraan, was recovered by a court bailiff from illegal custody of Sub-Inspector Rana Nawaz last night with multiple fractures.
