CDC to launch eCDS on 25th

Published April 19, 2005

ISLAMABAD, April 18: The Central Depository Company (CDC) here on Monday announced that it would launch a re-engineered version of its existing Central Depository System (CDS) — “eCDS” — from April 25. A CDC spokesman said that the new system was designed to offer the benefits of improved maintainability, better application response time and enhanced data security.

“As the process of instituting eCDS and ensuring uninterrupted transition from the old to the new system is a complex and time-consuming task, the system will not be available to the clients on Saturday (April 23) and the CDC offices will also remain closed on that day”, he said.

The spokesman said that the CDC took up the venture of re-engineering the CDS to enhance its efficiency in order to provide further comfort to its clients and to improve the working of the market place.
