DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 27: Workers of the Save D.I. Khan Movement set up a protest camp against the provincial government's policies here on Sunday.

The participants, including leaders of political parties and social groups, criticized the provincial government for ignoring the development of Dera Ismail Khan and alleged that funds allocated for it had been diverted to the home city of the chief minister.

They alleged that the chief minister had shifted different development schemes, including the Al Shifa Institute, a cancer hospital, a police training school and the PAF Academy, from Dera Ismail Khan to Bannu and Kohat but the local leadership did not raise voice against the injustice.

They expressed the apprehension that the circuit bench of the Peshawar High Court in Dera Ismail Khan would also be shifted to Bannu. They alleged that funds for the extension of the city airport had also been diverted to Bannu.
