BAHAWALPUR, Feb 27: The Rohi Express will resume its service on Feb 28 (today) after a week long suspension. The train will start from Rawalpindi and reach Khanpur the next morning.

People of Bahawalpur, Sammasatta, Liaquatpur, and Khanpur had resented the suspension of the train on Feb 20 by the Pakistan Railways. After large-scale protests, the PR officials have restored the train.

Timetable of the Rohi Express will remain unchanged. Meanwhile, the tehsil Nazim and other officials are making preparations to accord a warm welcome to the train at Khanpur railway station on Tuesday noon.

JEEP RALLY: The desert jeep rally will go a long way in introducing Cholistan's culture and civilization at international level. This was stated by Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Managing-Director MPA Sahibzada Muzammmil Abbasi, DCO Imran Ahmed and EDO (finance) Raheel Siddiqui at a joint press conference here.

The rally is being organized jointly by TDCP and the district government with the help of the army and Pakistan Rangers. They said the car rally would highlight the heritage of Cholistan at home and abroad. They said it aimed at preserving and restoring the lost grandeur of the historic Derawar Fort.

The managing-director said financial assistance from the Unicef had also been sought for restoration of the fort. He said funds generated from the rally would be spent on the fort.
