SUKKUR: Four kidnapped

SUKKUR, Jan 14: A woman, her daughter and two sons were kidnapped by armed men wearing police uniforms from their house near the Chachar railway station in the Garhi Khairo area of Jacobabad district on Thursday.

The armed men raided the houses of Ali Gul Magsi and Taj Mohammad Magsi, overpowered the inmates, beat them up and kidnapped Malkan, wife of Ali Gul, their daughter Zamiran and sons, Aamir, 8, and, Arif, 6.

Later, talking to journalists, Taj Mohammad, the brother of Ali Gul, said that they did not have enmity with anybody and suspected that the Usta Mohammad police was behind the kidnapping.

The SHO of the Usta Mohammad police, when contacted, said that the police were not behind the kidnapping incident. He said that they had arrested Ali Gul Magsi on January 8 in lieu of his son Gul Mohammad Magsi who was wanted in several cases of kidnapping and robbery.

People of the area said that Ali Gul had matrimonial dispute with his tribesmen and they may be involved in the kidnapping incident.
