NAWABSHAH: Karo-kari: man kills wife

NAWABSHAH, Dec 1: A man killed his wife on the pretext of Karo-kari in the Haji Mohammad Umer Sethar village, near Daur, on Wednesday. Jamalan, 22, was clubbed to death by her husband, Sudhir Waswano, on the pretext of illicit relations with his brother.

The body was brought to the People's Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The Daur police have arrested Sudhir Waswano however no FIR was lodged till filing of this report.

ENCROACHMENTS: The Nawabshah railway police removed huts and cabins along the railway line as a part of an operation against encroachment here on Wednesday. The SHO of Nawabshah railway police and the assistant engineer of Pakistan Railways along with the staff removed dozens of huts and cabins near Raja Line and below the railway flyover on Wednesday.

Condemning the action of the railway police, the affected persons said that the action was taken when they refused to pay bribe and no prior information was given to them and they had incurred huge losses due to the action. They further said that they were living on this land since long.
