HYDERABAD, Nov 23: Sindh University's final semester examinations of bachelor's and master's degree programmes and special semester examinations for failed students and those who want to improve their results started on Monday.

About 16,000 students are appearing in the examinations from 45 institutes and departments of faculties of arts, commerce and business administration, natural sciences, social sciences, Islamic studies and education.

University authorities in coordination with the local administration have adopted strict security arrangements at 34 centres set up for the examinations. The examination section of the University has also established information counters at various examination centres to provide guidance to students.

DATE EXTENDED: The University of Sindh on Tuesday extended the date for submitting forms for admission to MPA and postgraduate diploma in public administration, evening programme, up to Dec 10. The aptitude test for the admissions will be held on Dec 13.

SEMINAR: The University of Sindh on Monday finalized arrangements for holding a six-day national seminar on "New trends in plant science". The seminar is sponsored by the university's department of botany.
