GUJRANWALA, Nov 21: A local court declared accused Mazher Qayyum Nahara, abrother of provincial parliamentary secretary Mudassar Qayyum Nahara, as proclaimed offender for not appearing before court in a murder case.

The judge also directed that names of all the accused involved in the murder case, including the parliamentary secretary, be placed on the exit control list.

According to the prosecution, the parliamentary secretary, his brothers and other relatives were booked in the murder case of market committee vice-chairman Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad some one-and-a-half-years ago by Naushera Virkan police.

The parliamentary secretary had got bail from the Lahore High Court and his brothers from a local court. But accused Mazher Qayyum did not appear before court despite repeated summons and arrest warrants.

Meanwhile, the judge adjourned the bail plea of accused Azher Qayyum Nahara till Nov 29 when the counsel will complete arguments in support of his client's bail confirmation.
