HYDERABAD, Aug 23: The syndicate of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, at a recent meeting, approved a Rs50 million deficit budget for the year 2004-05.

The estimated income for the current financial year stands at Rs218 million whereas the estimated expenditure is Rs268 million. The syndicate resolved to approach the higher education commission and the government of Sindh for grant to cover the deficit. The syndicate also approved the actual expenditure for the year 2003-04.

RESULTS: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, on Saturday announced the result of the second professional MBBS annual examination 2004 of the university, Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and People's Medical College, Nawabshah, held in May this year.

Urooj, daughter of Ali Nawaz Memon, secured the first position by obtaining 711 marks, Fathima Rizniya Mooseen, secured the second position by obtaining 703 marks, while the third position was shared by Mohammad Mahmoud Mohammad Al-Bourini, and Kiran, daughter of Anwar Ali Akhund, by obtaining 678 marks.

EXAM: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, has announced the last date for submission of examination forms for the final professional BDS (old and new course) annual examination 2004.

The final date has been fixed as Aug 30 without late fee whereas with the late fee of Rs200, the last date was Sept 6. The examinations are scheduled to be held from Sept 13.
