NAWABSHAH: Railway traffic resumes

NAWABSHAH, Aug 17: The railway traffic at the Nawabshah station was restored early on Tuesday morning following repair work on main tracks which were damaged by two bomb blasts on Monday. Three people were injured in the blasts.

Security was tightened at sensitive points after the explosions near the railway station while one of the injured, police constable Nasir Arain, was taken to Karachi owing to his critical condition.

Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged with the B-section police by the state against unknown miscreants. Sources said that the bombs were local-made, weighing about 1.5 pound each, and added that further investigations were under way. Sukkur division railways superintendent Mohammad Khalid and divisional engineer Mohammad Ibrahim arrived here to hold meetings.

SANGHAR: Railway traffic at the Tando Adam railway station was restored early on Tuesday morning, following some nine hours of repair work after two bomb blasts occurred on Monday that damaged the main railway line.

It was said that the Tezgam Express was targeted, judging by the timings of the blasts, the second of which occurred some 10 minutes after the train passed through.
