DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 12: Residents of Model Town held a demonstration on Monday in protest against the supply of contaminated water.

In the wake of a series of protests by the residents of all tehsils of the district, the dwellers of Model Town held a demonstration on Monday to protest the ineptness of the tehsil and district administrations regarding provision of clean drinking water.

The protesters, carrying bottles filled with contaminated water, chanted slogan against Tehsil Nazim Aasim Zubair Khosa and his team. Despite protests, the tehsil governments of Tribal Area, Taunsa Sharif and Dera Ghazi Khan have failed to provide clean drinking water to the people.

Earlier, the people had beaten up the TMA chief officer for acute shortage of drinking water in the Dera city, farmers observed a hunger strike for a week in Taunsa and the people halted the motorcade of District Nazim Jamal Khan Leghari in the tribal area and chanted slogan against him.
