KOHAT, Feb 20: NWFP Chief Secretary Ijaz Ahmed Qureshi has said that an amount of Rs5 million would be earmarked for the maintenance of the Liaquat Memorial Hospital.

He held out an assurance in this regard during a day-long visit to Kohat on Thursday during which he inspected various ongoing development schemes. The chief secretary also formed a committee to determine causes of delay in the completion of the Kohat-Rawalpindi Road.

The chief secretary, who was accompanied by officials of the provincial government, expressed regrets after being informed that the federal government had not yet released the share of Kohat district in the development fund despite a lapse of eight months of the current fiscal year. He said he would take up the issue with officials concerned.
