KHAIRPUR, Feb 9: The Soorah police produced 23 detained protesters before the judicial magistrate of Nara Taluka on Monday. They were arrested on charges of blocking the road during a protest sit-in against the Kadanwari gas field, Nara taluka.

The police obtained a 14-day remand of the protesters. They included Mohib Ali, Ghulam Akbar, Bagan, Abdullah Dhalan, Amir Bux, Misri, Allahdad, Ghulam Sarwar and others. A group of people went to the camp outside the Kadanwari gas field gate on Monday to observe a token hunger strike but the police foiled their bid. Later, they staged a protest demonstration outside gas field-I.

DIES: A man, Aachar Shah, 50, died due to dog bite in Rahujo village Kingri taluka on Sunday night. The man was bitten by a dog about one week back and was hospitalized. Later, he was taken back to the village where he died.
