GUJRANWALA, Feb 1: The district administrations in various cities of Punjab have adopted strict security measures on Eidul Azha.

In Gujranwala, police and Elite Force personnel have been deployed at sensitive places, including railway station, telegraph offices, trade centres, mosques and Imambargahs.

It is learnt that leaves of police employees have been cancelled and they have been ordered to report for duty. DPO Saud Aziz at a meeting here on Sunday, ordered all SDPOs, ASPs and SHOs have been directed to ensure law and order in their areas. He claimed that proclaimed offenders and other felons have been arrested.

KASUR: The administration has made teams comprising police officials to maintain law and order on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

A meeting was held to review security arrangements which was presided over by the district Nazim, Kasur DPO, DSPs and officers of other law enforcement agencies.

The DPO told the meeting that besides deployment of security officials, police patrol the city to ensure the safety of the people. Traffic police have made arrangements for smooth flow of traffic, he added.

The district Nazim ordered police to implement security plan and also ensure that no official would receive bribe in the name of Eidie.
