HYDERABAD, Feb 24: The foundation stone of an extension ward in the Qasimabad Hospital was laid on Tuesday by District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil.

Fifty beds will be added to the hospital after the completion of the ward and facilities for orthopaedic surgery will also be made available.

The District Nazim said that Qasimabad was the soul of Sindh and called upon the moneyed people to play their due role in the development of Qasimabad. He recalled that before his election as district nazim, Qasimabad Hospital was the only dispensary however population of taluka was increasing with each passing day.

He said that due to his efforts, gynaecology, surgery, coronary and children wards had been established there and arrangements were afoot for the treatment of diabetic and hepatitis patients and also eye operations. He said a generator will also be installed in the hospital soon.

Since one hospital cannot cater to all the needs of Qasimabad people, therefore, 10 more beds had been added to Sehrish Nagar urban health centre where operations will also be performed in near future, Mr Jamil said.

He said that a road will also be constructed from Pakora stop and Alamdar chowk to Marvi town at a cost of Rs20 million.
