HYDERABAD, Nov 23: EDO health Dr Bux Ali Pitafi has announced that a anti-polio campaign will be launched in the district from November 24 to 26 to administer anti-polio drops to 301,697 children up to the age of 5 years.

At a press conference held here on Sunday, he said that 635 mobile teams, 87 fixed points and 72 transit points had been set up.

He said that vitamin A capsules will also be given to the children aged between 6 months and 5 years.

He said six taluka supervisors, 21 zonal incharges, 145 area incharges had been appointed to supervise the anti-polio drive which will be monitored by the senior officers of the health department and representatives of WHO and UNICEF. He appealed to all and sundry, specially the parents to cooperate in this national exercise. He also advised the parents to complete the immunisation course of their children up to the age of 9 months.
