Daska elects tehsil naib nazim

SIALKOT, Oct 29: Pakistan Muslim League-N’s (PML-N’s) candidate Muhammad Ilyas Khattana won Daska tehsil naib nazim slot on Wednesday after defeating PML-Q-backed candidate Muhammad Afzal Mansha.

Mr Khattana defeated his rival with a 30-8 margin in a 41-member house. Another candidate Rana Abdul Jabbar was absent.

Daska Tehsil Nazim Haji Nasir Mehmood Cheema backed Mr Khattana, while Sialkot District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema supported Mr Mansha. About one-and-a-half month ago, the Daska Tehsil Council booted was given boot by the house through a no-confidence move.
