RAWALPINDI, May 4: A three-year-old boy was stabbed to death allegedly by his uncle in Fauji Colony, Pirwadhai, on Sunday, police said.

The alleged killer identified by the police as Amir Shahzad, the uncle of the deceased boy, also got himself injured with the same knife after the barbaric act. The injured was arrested by the police and the murder weapon recovered. However, the motive behind the murder is being investigated by the police.

Police said Shahzad, who had come to meet his brother Nazakat, went upstairs along with his little nephew Hasnain, where he stabbed the boy and slit his throat. The accused also got himself injured with the same knife.

After Hasnain’s mother found him missing, she went upstairs and found her loved one dead and her husband’s brother lying in a pool of blood closed to him.

A large number of people gathered around the house after hearing the shouts of the woman. Later, the police arrived on the scene and removed the body and the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Staff Reporter from Islamabad adds: A minor boy died after falling into a water tank at the Federal Government Services Hospital on Sunday.

Police said three-year-old Mohammad Ibrahim was standing on the water tank in a courtyard near the labour room and gynae ward of the hospital, when its cover toppled and the boy fell into the water.
