KARACHI, April 22: The Pakistan snooker squad are to launch their preparations for next month’s 24th Asian edition championship with a week-long training and coaching camp at Karachi’s Amir Bakhsh Billiards Hall from Wednesday.

The three-member national team comprises the former world number two Saleh Muhammad and Khurram Agha, who finished third in the last Asian event held in Karachi last May.

Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) has decided to hire Bilal Mughal, who helped Muhammad Sajjad Butt grab the national snooker crown on his first appearance, as coach of the team. His services, according to PBSA Chief Asghar Valika, have also been called for assessing his potential as a future Pakistan coach.

“We would be monitoring his training system and coaching programme and hope that Saleh, Khurram and Sajjad are able to achieve something in Dubai,” he said. Camp starts from 10.00am till 3.00pm every day.—APP
