Rape victim cries out for justice

Published April 16, 2008

BAHAWALPUR, April 15: A gang-rape victim and her father alleged on Tuesday that the rape accused were pressing them with the help of police to withdraw the case.

Talking to newsmen here, they said rape case was registered by Khairpur police on April 4 against six persons.

They said police arrested four accused but did not arrest others as the lady doctor, in her report, had directed the police to conduct the DNA test of the accused.

They appealed the prime minister to transfer the investigation from Khairpur police to the regional police, arrest all the culprits and direct the police to proceed with the DNA test of the arrested accused.
