NAWABSHAH, March 14: A number of senior police officers were transferred in another major reshuffle in the district police of Nawabshah during the past 48 hours.

The district police officer of Nawabshah, Syed Ghayasuddin Rashidi, was transferred to the CPO Karachi on Wednesday night where as Rukhsar Khawar serving as SSP in Traffic Zone-III Karachi has been posted as the new DPO of Nawabshah.

Altaf Leghari was re-posted as SP Investigation of Nawabshah on Friday. Leghari has served as SP Investigation and was transferred to CPO a few days ago when he allegedly refused to take out the names of some PML-Q leaders from an FIR of a PPP worker’s murder case.

Three supervisor police officers (DSPs) were transferred to Regional Police Office Hyderabad, including Nawabshah Saddar SPO Maindad Jakhro, Sakrand town SPO Mazhar Hussain Hisbani and Daulatpur town SPO Rahib Khan Tunio.

Mohammed Aslam Langah has been posted as Saddar SPO and Qazi Ahmed SPO Aftab Agheem has been given additional charge of SPO Sakrand and Daulatpur.

Earlier on March 3, after the announcement of formation of new Sindh government, four SHOs of main police stations and a traffic sergeant were transferred and new officers were posted at their places.

It may be mentioned here that Nawabshah District Nazim Faryal Talpur, the younger sister of PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, had received several complaints of police atrocities and had also freed several people from illegal police detention during her visit to various police stations of the district in January.

Hot words were also exchanged between the zila nazim and the district police officer of Nawabshah at the town police station after she was stopped by the latter from visiting police station and making entries in the Roznamchas (diary) about her visit.
