HYDERABAD, Dec 11: Academic convocation-2006 of the University of Sindh will be held on December 29, to confer degrees and award medals to students who have passed from the university as well as from affiliated degree colleges and institutes upto 2006.

Sindh Governor and Chancellor of universities of Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, will presided over the convocation and confer degrees and award medals to the students.

A high-level meeting of organising committee discussed arrangements to the convocation on Monday. The meeting was presided over by vice chancellor of Sindh University, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, while pro-vice chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Registrar Mohammad Saleh Rajar, Secretary Academic Convocation Dr Parveen Shah, Controller of Examinations Dr Parvez Pathan and conveners of different arrangement committees attended the meeting.

The controller of examinations informed that this year, 1100 candidates have submitted applications to receive their bachelors, masters, LLB, MPhil and PhD degrees as well as gold and silver medals.

While considering huge number of students, parents and guests, the meeting decided to organize the convocation at the main ground of faculty of arts building.

The organising committee set-up different committees to look after transport, refreshment and seating arrangements.
