KOHAT, Nov 24: The provincial health authorities have suspended the medical superintendent (MS) of the KDA divisional medical complex for not approving the medical bills of the assistant coordination officer, Dawn has learnt.

A source told Dawn that the assistant district coordination officer sent his medical bills to the MS for approval but he refused to do so. A ‘tussle’ had been going on between the two officials over various issues.

The MS had called back an ambulance from the venue of an event which was expected to be attended by the NWFP governor but which was later cancelled due to security reasons. The ACO complained that the MS should have called the ambulance along with other staff on duty there.

Later the MS refused to grant a four-month leave to a grade-IV employee which infuriated the ACO who, through the district coordination officer, got him suspended and transferred to Peshawar.
