NAWABSHAH, Oct 28: Preparations to welcome PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto are in full swing as she is expected to visit the Zardari House and offer condolence to the families of the Karachi blasts victims here.

The city wears festive look and People’s Party activists are taking out rallies in different parts of the town.

A large number of billboards, banners and posters and huge pictures of Ms Benazir Bhutto have been put up at different places.

Security has been beefed up especially around the Zardari House and scanning machines were installed on its main gate.

Temporary police pickets have also been established at the gate and nearby areas and the entry of general public as well as PPP workers has been restricted and only the office-bearers with passes are allowed to enter the house.

Police patrolling has been increased in the city and in the Society area.

Party sources informed that the lists were being finalised for the deployment of security staff from party workers at the house during her visit.

Zila Nazim Faryal Talpur on Tuesday held a meeting to review the security and other arrangements for the arrival of PPP chairperson in Nawabshah and directed the department concerned to ensure proper security, cleanliness, chopping of bushes from roadsides, alert in the hospital and alternative arrangements in case of electricity failure.

Nawabshah is the home town of Mr Asif Ali Zardari.
