KOHAT, Oct 27: The vehicles of the Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) which had been banned by the protesters on the Shakardarra road since Thursday morning were allowed to use the road late Friday night after the company accepted their demands.

The protesters led by tehsil naib nazim had blocked the road from the Chanda oil fields of the OGDC. The protesters were seeking guarantees for the acceptance of their charter of demands from the top management of the company. They had rejected assurances given by the local management.

OGDC GM Brig Arif, chief security officer Maj (retd) Altaf Beg, officers’ association president Aslam Niazi and some other senior officials of the company held negotiations with the 14-member committee of the protesters in the presence of Kohat district coordination officer Kamran Zeb and some other officials.
