NAWABSHAH : Acid thrown on woman

NAWABSHAH, Sept 27: A female teacher was injured in acid attack, late on Wednesday night. According to details a man threw acid on the face of a primary school teacher Ms Mehtab Shah 26 near Jamal Shah village.

She was being examined by a medico legal doctor at the NMC Hospital when a member of the Sindh Assembly took her away in his vehicle, said the hospital sources.

SHO Amjad Ali, Taluka Police Station when contacted told Dawn they issued a medical letter to the acid burnt victim and she was admitted to the NMC Hospital.

While the hospital staff when asked denied her admission and showed ignorance. The SHO said police had arrested a person, Shakeel Ahmed Khokhar, allegedly involved in the acid attack. No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
