LARKANA, March 18: The Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit bench, on Monday ordered to release four detainees on the surety of Rs10,000 each.

Those released were Akhtiar Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed, Ghulam Serwar and Allah Warayo Dayo.

Justice Mohammed Afzal Soomro heard the case of the habeas-corpus where the SHO, Mirokhan police station, Manzoor Chandio, appeared and said that the four persons were arrested on March 9 as suspects in an FIR 63/98.

However, the complainant in the same FIR, Wahid Bakhsh Gopang, appeared before the court and disputing the claim of the SHO said that the four persons, shown as suspects, were not involved in the case.

The case was adjourned till March 21 and the SHO was asked to appear on that day along with the detainees.

DOCUMENTS: The director general, Larkana Development Authority (LDA), has asked the divisional superintendent (DS), Pakistan Railways, to submit original ownership documents, building plan and the NOC, regarding the construction of 23 shops in Larkana, within seven days.

The DG, S.Tahir Ali Shah, in his letter on March 14 to the DS regretted that despite two notices and one letter, the legal obligations had not been met.

No building can be constructed in the urban areas of Larkana sans seeking approval from the LDA for it (LDA) is not a municipal authority but it is responsible for the building control function.

It is pertinent to mention here that 23 shops have been constructed close to the railway station, Larkana, after receiving money from bidders.
