HYDERABAD, July 19: Four college teachers under the banner of Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) continued their hunger strike outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Thursday - third consecutive day. A large number of teachers visited the hunger strikers’ camp.

College teachers had been protesting delay in the resolution of their problems. They called upon the President, the Prime Minister, the Sindh Governor and the Chief Minister to take notice of unrest among teachers of Sindh and demanded regularisation of 863 adhoc teachers and payment of their salaries.

They said as per the Prime Minister’s announcement, college teachers should be upgraded on the pattern of university teachers with 400 to Grade 18, 19 & 20, introduction of simple Sindhi in Class XI for non-Sindhi students and reinstatement of the Principal Sachal College, Prof Nazeer Pathan.
