NAWABSHAH, June 2: The body of a 12-year-old boy who went missing a day ago was found in katcha area near Doulatpur on Saturday, with marks suggesting he had been criminally assaulted before death, police sources said.

The boy identified as Mukhtiar Ahmed, 12, son of Faqir Akbar Bhutto who lived with his parents in katcha area had left for Manik Bagh village on Friday to meet his relatives but did not reach there and went missing on his way.

Sources in police said that the boy had been criminally assaulted before death and said that the police were waiting for medical report to confirm it.

The body was taken to Daulatpur health centre for post mortem and later handed over to relatives.

The father of the deceased lodged an FIR at Kundah police station against two unidentified persons.
