HYDERABAD, Feb 13: A large number of people belonging to Marri community staged a protest demonstration outside the press club on Tuesday to protest against the arrest and enforced disappearance of one Fareed Marri, son of Rasheed Marri.

Talking to journalists, Mohammad Saleh Marri, the brother of Fareed Marri, said that his brother was picked up by the TPO of Sanghar, Abid Kaimkhani, 11 days ago but since then being held incommunicado.

He claimed that neither any FIR registered was against Fareed Marri nor he was involved in any case.

He demanded that either Fareed Marri should be produced in the relevant court of law or he should be set free.

He quoted the examples of Naseeban Lubano, Shahzadi Nangore, Sakina Solangi and Rukhsana Oad. He demanded that the tormentors of the women should be arrested and awarded deterrent punishment.

JI: A large number of activists of Jamat-i-Islami staged a protest demonstration outside the press club on Tuesday against the desecration of Masjid-i-Aqsa by the Israelis. They raised slogans against America and Israel.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Shaikh Shoukat Ali, Dr Fawad, Rana Mehmood Ali Khan and others said that America and Israel were perpetrating inhuman atrocities against the Muslims all over the world.

They said that it was an irony that President Gen Pervez Musharraf had developed a soft corner for Israel and was levelling ground to recognize the Zionist state.

They, however, said that the people of Pakistan would foil this conspiracy. They called upon the Muslim rulers to take notice of the desecration of Masjid-i-Aqsa.
