LAHORE, Jan 25: Faisalabad’s poor run in the ongoing Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League competition continued on Thursday when they made 169 for nine against Rawalpindi at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Replying to Rawalpindi’s 251, the hosts are still 82 runs behind with only one wicket standing. Their slim hopes now rest on skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who is batting on a defiant 70.

Misbah, who has so far occupied the crease for 266 minutes, was the only batsman to offer resistance as five of his colleagues failed to score. The Test reject’s 160-ball knock contains 11 boundaries.

Left-arm medium-pacers Najaf Shah and Sohail Tanvir captured three wickets each.

Earlier, Rawalpindi, who resumed at 239 for eight, were all out for 251 with skipper Mohammad Wasim making a 150-ball 62.

Medium-pacer Ahmed Hayat grabbed four for 31 and Asad Ali three for 66.
