LAHORE, Jan 14: A delegation of US Senate led by Senator Hillary Clinton called on President Pervez Musharraf here on Sunday and discussed with him regional situation, Pakistan-US relations and bilateral issues.

President Musharraf briefed the delegation about Pakistan's point of view on Afghanistan and told the US senators that a stable, strong and peaceful Afghanistan was in the interest of the region.

He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to continue its support and cooperation to the world community in the fight against terrorism and to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The president also briefed the US senators about the Pakistan-India dialogue process, saying that a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue would ensure a durable peace in South Asia.

The members of the US delegation appreciated the role of Pakistan in the war against terrorism.—APP
