MARDAN, Jan 14: Hearing a habeas corpus petition, District and Sessions Judge of Mardan Syed Yahya Zahid Gillani ordered that the custody of a nine-year-old child be given to his mother.

Dr Khalid had forcibly taken away the child from the house of his mother-in-law, where his wife, Dr Asmat, was living after the couple developed differences over a property dispute.

Dr Asmat and her mother had lodged an FIR against Dr Khalid under sections 34, 354, 452 and 48 PPC with the Hoti police station.
