LARKANA, Jan 8: The chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party Ms Benazir Bhutto on Monday condoled the death of eminent writer Anwer Pirzado who she said was led his life with utmost honesty and honour.

In an e-mailed message read out by PPP District President Ayaz Soomro to the family of late Pirzado in ‘Balhreji’ village near Mohenjodaro Ms. Bhutto showered praise on late Pirzado and said he was an intellectual of a class of his own who tremendously contributed towards exploration of archaeological sites in Sindh and understanding the philosophy of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

MPA Ayaz Soomro was accompanied by president of district bar association Ghulam Mjutaba Isran and PPP Qambar-Shahdadkot President MPA Ghulam Mujadid Isran. Mr. Soomro had earlier in a meeting termed the death of Mr. Pirzado a great loss to Sindhi literature.

People from all walks of life continued to pour in ‘Balhreji’ village to pay homage to the leading Sindhi intellectual and analyst of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s poetry who died on Sunday in Karachi due to lung and liver cancer.

Among them were Provincial Coordination Secretary Ms. Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, renowned historian and archaeologist Badar Abro, former secretary Sindhi Adabi Sangat Taj Joyo, former principal Z. A. Bhutto Agricultural College Shahnawaz Buriro, Comrade Haidar Joyo and Khalid Chandio.

Ms. Rashdi said that late Pirzado’s conversations and his writings would start with Sindh and end at Sindh.
