ABBOTTABAD: Convict hanged

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 1: A man convicted of murdering Seth Iqbal of Haripur was hanged in the district jail here on Wednesday. The convict, Tahir Khan, had been sentenced to death by the sessions judge, Haripur, in the murder case that was registered in 1995.

The death sentence was upheld by superior courts and the convict’s mercy petition had also been turned down by the president. He was hanged in front of jail officials including Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Faisal, Dr Fazle Raziq and Dr Asif who later handed over the body to the family.
