ABBOTTABAD, Oct 19: Three policemen were killed and five others were injured after their van plunged into a ravine near Kangal Payan at Sherwan, about 26 kilometres from here on Wednesday.

The victims included Sherwan police station’s SHO Din Nawaz ASI Mumtaz Hussain Shah and constable Arshad.

The injured policemen included Chan Zeb, Mohammad Irshad, Safeer, Rasheed and Khan Afsar. They were returning after conducting raids near the Kangal Payan area to capture bandits who attempted to loot a bus on Tuesday. The injured policemen were shifted to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.
