HYDERABAD, Aug 8: The Cantonment Board of Hyderabad (CBH) is launching a one-widow operation from Wednesday to help the residents of cantonment area in getting their problems solved, says a CBH official.

The director general of Military Lands and Cantonments, Maj-Gen Wajahat Ali Mufti, will inaugurate the one-window operation at the CBH head offices. Later, Mr Mufti will inaugurat a tree plantation campaign.

The official said that the one-window information room set up at the entrance to CBH offices would receive complaints ranging from sanitation, challan and water supply connections to sewerage and various other issues.

The complaints would be sent to the officials concerned who would then tell the complainants when they would be able to get feedback about their problems, he said.

The CBH covers entire Saddar, Bohri Bazaar, Civil Lines, Defence Phase-I and II, some localities in unit No. 12 Latifabad and Shah Faisal Colony.

It was learnt that the CBH had developed its website to provide people some basic information about taxation and land related issues. The site would be launched soon.

The board was also in the process of computerising its land and taxation records, which would be made available to the tenants and other residents of the board on demand.

The federal government has up till now made no decision about holding elections for union councils in the cantonment boards.
