SWABI: Containers were placed at the entry points of the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway, while internet and mobile phone services remained suspended across the district after the imposition of the governor’s rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.

The suspension of internet and mobile services left people high and dry.

Traders said that the suspension of internet service had disrupted their activities.

They said they were not hopeful the service would be restored soon.

Irshad Khan, owner of a restaurant near Swabi Interchange, told Dawn that they were perturbed because all their orders were booked online.

Residents demanded the immediate restoration of internet and mobile services. PTCL officials said their systems were also not working.

They expressed the hope that internet services would be restored soon.
