BATTAGRAM: Police registered a case against seven persons, including a sub-inspector, for allegedly torturing the family of a five-year-old rape victim in Allai tehsil of Battagram district.

Earlier this week, a five-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted in Allai after which police arrested a suspect.

However, relatives of the suspect became furious when the family of the victim registered a case and highlighted the incident in media. They allegedly tortured the family members of the victim.

The district police officer, Qamar Hayat Khan, told Dawn that DSP Amjad Ali was appointed inquiry officer in the matter. He said that sub-inspector Naeemullah was suspended and police teams were taking action to arrest the suspects involved in the incident. He added that security would be provided to victim’s family.

Naeemullah was suspended and a case was registered against him and his six accomplices identified as Amir, Waqas, Ayub, Rookh Islam, Abdullah and Abdul Wahab.
