Newborn dead, seven injured after van falls into canal near Jaranwala

TOBA TEK SINGH: A newborn baby died and seven others were injured on Saturday night after a passenger coaster traveling between Sialkot and Faisalabad fell into a canal after one of its tyres burst near Chak 8 GB near Jaranwala on Nankana Sahib Road.

Rescue teams shifted the injured to the Nankana Sahib DHQ and Jaranwala THQ hospitals. The body of a two-month-old baby, Dawood, was found during a search operation in the canal.

The teams provided CPR to the child but he could not survive.

The injured were identified as Hussnian Liaqat (35), Misbah Parveen (30), Naveed Akhtar (50), Raheela Tariq (35), Aysha Jabbar (50), Nasira Aslam (55) and Imran Hameed (30).
