DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The employees of tehsil municipal administration (TMA) continued their protest for the second consecutive day on Tuesday against non-payment of salaries for several months.

Chanting slogans against the government, the protesting employees locked the offices and demanded immediate payment of their outstanding dues.

They said the non-payment of salaries and pensions had created serious financial difficulties for employees and pensioners. They said that low-paid employees continued to perform their duties but had not received their salaries for months.

The protesters demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to conduct an inquiry into the affairs of TMA Dera Ismail Khan.

They also called for an investigation into utilisation of funds by the local government department. The protesters questioned the utilisation of TMA’s monthly revenue, which they claimed ran into millions of rupees. They said that the protest would continue until their demands were met.
