Three sentenced to death in 2014 murder case

SUKKUR: The First Additional District and Sessions Judge of Khairpur, Liaquat Ali Khoso, presiding over the Model Criminal Trial Court on Friday, sentenced three men to death and imposed on them a fine of Rs2.5 million each for killing their rival on Jan 4, 2014 in Khairpur district.

The judge found Abdul Ghaffar, son of Ali Bakhsh Khuwaja; Asghar Ali, son of Ghulam Rasool Khuwaja, and Abdul Razzaq, son of Shahbaz Ali Khuwaja, guilty of killing their rival, Sarfraz Ali Khuwaja, over an old enmity.

A fourth accused, Mohammad Ishaq, son of Ali Bakhsh Khuwaja, was handed life imprisonment with the same amount of fine.

According to the prosecution case, the accused had opened fire on the victim along Larkana-Khairpur Bypass near Haider Ali Lanjwani village killing him on the spot.

The case was registered at the Tando Masti police station on the complaint of a brother of the deceased man.

Six cops’ bail plea in custodial death case rejected

The Supreme Court has rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of six policemen, including an SDPO and an SHO, in the custodial death case of a villager, Arshad Ali Khorkhani, a statement issued by the Sukkur zone FIA said. All the six policemen were accordingly arrested, it added.

The case (No.02/2026) was investigated by Shaheed Benazirabad circle of FIA against SDPO Abid Hussain Brohi, SHO Rehmat Ali Waswano, ASI Ali Hassan Brohi, WHC Asif Iqbal, head constable Sardar Ali Leghari and constable Sarfraz Nawaz Sheikh of the Sinjhoro police station of Sanghar district.
