KARACHI: The Sindh United Party (SUP) staged a rally against the creation of new provinces and administrative units in Sindh.

A number of SUP workers and supporters participated in the rally that began from Murtaza Chowk, Bilawal Colony to Chakra Goth, where it transformed into a large public meeting.

Addressing the rally, SUP president and Tehreek-i-Tahaffuz-i-Ayeen-i-Pakistan Vice Chairman Syed Zain Shah said that every child of Sindh would protect and safeguard “every single inch of our homeland”.

He said that resistance will continue against the conspiracies being hatched against the unity of Sindh.

Criticising the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, he said that these parties should dispel the thought from their minds that any harm can be caused to the unity of Sindh.

“We want Karachi to progress and for the city’s residents to be provided basic amenities, but Karachi is occupied by land, sugar and builder mafias,” he said.

The SUP leader said Pakistan is a federation, and the rights and powers of the federating units must be recognised.

He condemned the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan and said that the government was attempting to halt the Sept 27 peaceful march.

Addressing the gathering, SUP Senior Vice President Roshan Ali Buriro said Urdu-speaking people have rejected the demand for the division of Sindh.
